Edgar founded Melion as a private jet charter marketplace. Melion prices every aircraft near a departure point, has certified operators compete for the trip, and shows three options: lowest price, best fit and premium. Melion's own TBM 960 and TBM 980 are planned for 2027. In 2016 he entered private aviation with a jet card and charter software platform that Forbes covered in 2017.
Edgar Melo Costa (also known as Edgar Costa and, in Portuguese, Edgar Melo e Costa) is a Lisbon-born entrepreneur and private equity investor based in New York. He founded his first company in 2004, built and sold several construction businesses in Portugal, and in 2014 founded EMC Acquisitions, a private investment group with investments in more than 15 countries, focused on real estate and hotels; in 2018 it became an equity partner of KEY Real Estate Holdings in New York.
He also leads Grus Drinks (wine import and distribution, New York and Toronto), MezcalSearch (tequila and mezcal discovery) and iQuash (legal technology), and backs AI founders through ELP Ventures.
